the kiwi

  1. Hi there Billie-Jean, I'm Abby a year 8 student at Yaldhurst Model School.

I like the layout you choose, it looks cool. I also really like the white kiwi. The facts you added are helpful and just interesting to know.

In the writing you said that kiwis transitioned to ground. Does that mean they used to know how to fly? I think that would feel weird, seeing kiwis in the sky.

To add to this amazing blog post you could put some of your thoughts to all these facts.

Do you think that there would be more kiwis if they didn't change their lifestyle?

    Kind regards,
    Abby.

  2. Kia ora Billie-jean,
    Its your mother here.
I like your post about how kiwi have adapted to increase their chance of survival. It seems like the poor old kiwi need to start adapting again as new predators arrive and their environment changes. I wonder if they will be able to adapt in time or if there is more that we humans could do to help them out?
The white kiwi is so cute.
    Bye
    Abi

  3. Kia ora Billie-Jean, I enjoyed reading your report about kiwis. I did not know about the white kiwi. Have you found out anything about DOC and predator control for our precious kiwis? There is are kiwis on show in an animal place in Hokitika town and I hear a pretected special area for them up in Atarau which open to the public at times I think.
